1. Daecheong DamDaecheong Dam is a multi-purpose dam located on the Geumgang River where Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do meet. The mountains surrounding Daecheong Lake and its crystal clear waters create an extraordinary landscape. Places worth visiting around the lake include an adjacent park, the Daecheong Dam Water Culture Center, a memorial hall, and an observation deck. 2. Meditation GardenOne of the best natural places in Daejeon. It is part of Daecheongho Lake, and is a drama filming site. Meanwhile, an exploration deck was installed for the safety and convenience of tourists. 3. Pottery ExperienceOne of the most beautiful decorative items that you’ll find adorning a Korean Buddhist temple or hermitage are the melodious fish-shaped wind chimes called Punggyeong - 풍경 that hang from the eaves of a shrine hall. 4. Chudong Wetland ParkThis is a place where the flame grass colony of lakeshore is famous for, and is also a habitat for migratory birds since a natural ecology is well preserved. The chrysanthemum festival is held here every fall. |

Gwanbuk-ri Archeological Site (Hwangpo sailboat)The Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri and Busosanseong Fortress, which are the ruins of a royal palace dating from the Sabi period of Baekje (538~660), are located in the north part of Buyeo. Busosan Mountain stands 106m tall, and the peak overlooks the winding Baengmagang River that envelops the city. Busosanseong Fortress traverses the ridges and valleys of this mountain, and on the southern foothills lies the Archaeological Site in Gwanbuk-ri, which is the Baekje palace site from the Sabi period. Gongju National MuseumAs a local museum, Gongju National Museum is dedicated to preserving, studying, and celebrating the extensive history and culture of its region, at the center of Chungcheongnam-do Province. Gongju is the present-day location of the former city of Ungjin, which was the capital of the Baekje Kingdom from 475 to 538 CE, so the museum has a specialized focus on the remarkable culture of the Ungjin Baekje period. 2. Gongju Hanok VillageGongju Hanok Village is located between the Tomb of King Muryeong and the Gongju National Museum in Gongju, which is often referred to as ‘a roofless museum’ due to the preponderance of historic sites. Opened as a hanok stay on a 30,000m2 site in 2010, the Village, which is entirely composed of tiled-roof hanok houses and thatched-roof houses, offers attractive hanok accommodation that combines traditional and modern styles, and has rooms equipped with a Korean floor heating system (gudeul), as well as a pavilion. 1. Magoksa TempleMagoksa was granted protection by UNESCO, World Heritage Centre, in July 4, 2018 along with 7 other Bhuddist temples in South Korea. Magoksa Temple is the head temple of the sixth district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism located on Taehwasan Mountain in Gongju. According to the historical records on the temple, Magoksa Temple was built in the 9th century when Seon Buddhism began to spread throughout Korea. Magoksa Temple is characterized by a unique layout, with the northern and southern parts of the compounds divided by a stream. 2. Yeonmisan Nature Art ParkYeonmisan Nature Art Park is an alternative kind of sculpture park, where specifically Yatoo’s* art is practiced.
